The purpose of the East Africa Regional Advisory Group is to deepen the engagement of regional experts in improving the Standards of the B Impact Assessment. It provides constructive feedback and recommendations to B Lab and our Standards Advisory Council ( SAC) on regional specific issues. Its members include:

Sam Imende

Sam Imende is the Property Manager for Java House, leading the current expansion of the brand in the region. Imende is also a founding partner of Enzi Footwear, a casual footwear firm and an Advisor of VituMob an pioneer eCommerce platform, both based in East Africa.  Prior to Java House, Imende worked in junior roles at Dahlberg, B Lab and with ECDC Enterprise Development Group, a U.S. Small Business Administration lending intermediary.  Imende studied economics at Wake Forest University and received his MBA from the University of North Carolina.

Anne Stewart

Anne Stewart has worked in operations and communications roles for financial management companies, international NGOs and the J.P. Morgan Chase Foundation. These roles have included serving as Board of Directors liaison, writing donor reports and grant applications, creating staff orientation programs, and managing events and public speaking engagements. Most recently Anne worked as Relationship Manager for social enterprise Jibu, where she helped the company grow from a start-up to a successful social franchise producing water and other necessities in underserved East African communities. Anne holds an undergraduate degree in Archaeology from Wheaton College and a Master’s in Judaic Studies from the University of Michigan.

Khatuchi Khasandi – Wanjohi

Khatuchi Khasandi – Wanjohi is a Programme Associate at the Aspen Network of Development
Entrepreneurs (ANDE) East Africa Chapter. In this capacity, she leads ANDE’s programming in Tanzania and Uganda. Khatuchi also leads ANDE’s East Africa Metrics Learning Lab and INGOs in impact investing Learning Lab. Prior to joining ANDE, she worked with INGOs in both Kenya and Uganda.
Khatuchi holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology & Sociology) and a Minor in Literature from Kenyatta University in Kenya and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the same university.

Anton Espira

Anton Espira is a native of Kenya and one of the founders of Eco2librium (ECO2), an award winning B-Corp based in kenya. He oversees all operational aspects of ECO2 including the
development and implementation of operational systems and new projects. Anton has a
Ph.D. in entomology from the University of Oxford and has lived and worked on four
continents across. He is also one of the founders of a drug-discovery CRO in San Francisco,
California, that mines rainforest plants for new medicines. Anton is passionate about
conservation, innovation and equitable development, and views them as being inseparable;
and considers the private sector to be best placed to bring positive societal change.

Gladys Kivati

Gladys Kivati is an inclusive business advisor and Executive Director at Sustainable Business Consulting, a B-Corp certified organization registered in Kenya. Her passion is in developing organizations and people achieve excellence in ways that foster learning, dialogue, and innovation through a collaborative process. Gladys has been involved in delivering effective and professional sustainability training and consultancy services focusing on creative approaches to sustainable innovation to the private sector, NGOs, as well as with UN agencies. With over 5 years of experience, Gladys’ passion lies in helping organizations and SMEs create sustainable products, services and inclusive business models. Combined with project management skills, all projects Gladys has handled required a high degree of monitoring and planning, including regular review audits and impact assessments and a carefully planned management plan to minimize liabilities and risk, and maximize the efficient use of resources. In addition to her role on the Advisory board she is an advocate of B Corp Certification for companies committed to making the world a better place.

Gladys holds a Masters of Science degree in Education for Sustainability from London South Bank University, Bsc in Environmental Science, Kenyatta University . She has also received a Diploma in Project Management. Gladys is certified in three global cross cultural tools which are: Globe Smart Leadership Assessment, Globe Smart Profile and Globe Smart Global Teaming Assessment.

Caroline Wanjiku

Caroline Wanjiku is the Chief Executive Officer and Director at Daproim Africa Company Ltd, a Business Processing and Outsourcing (BPO) Company in Kenya.

An innovative and self motivated management professional, Caroline is passionate about entrepreneurship sensitization, development and growth in Africa through ICT innovations. She has over 7 years experience driving innovative research, marketing, operations; customer relationship, organizational development and management within the ICT sector specifically Business processing outsourcing. She has worked on profit and funded global projects delivering excellent service to her clients and improved livelihood to beneficiaries.

Caroline holds a Masters of Business Administration from University of Nairobi and Entrepreneurial Leadership and development from Portland States University (USA) where she interacted with big names in the impact entrepreneurship sector. Her undergraduate degree is Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration. She has also trained with Acumen, Cherie Blair Foundation for women and International Trade Centre (ITC) among others.

Caroline is a member of various bodies including Kenya IT Outsourcing, Services, Young Women Social Entrepreneurs, Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, international Trade Centre (ITC), among others. Caroline has participated in numerous awards including International Trade Centre international awards.

Neha Kumar

Neha has experience working in the private sector and international development. While working at B Lab, she was involved in research and analyses for the Emerging Markets standards for the B Impact Assessment. Previously, Neha has worked on researching the growth of entrepreneurship in the FinTech industry in Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda for Endeavor and supporting gender initiatives at TechnoServe Tanzania. She started her career at Goldman Sachs advising financial institutions clients in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
